The Convergence of ICG-9 and SIBIFE-3
In 2014, the 9th International Conference on Genomics (ICG-9) and the 3rd Shenzhen International Biotechnology Innovation Forum & Expo (SIBIFE-3) will join forces to stage one of the world’s most influential and fruitful annual conferences for the genomics and life science industries. It will bring together a diverse group of attendees and provide a platform to discuss recent advances and establish new collaborations. Shenzhen is one of the most energetic and fast-developing cities in the world. With strong support from open-minded local government and ample resources; the city provides a friendly environment for innovators and entrepreneurs.

    ICG
ICG aims at gathering leaders, researchers and professionals in omics sciences on human health, animal and plant science, agriculture and other related fields, to share thoughts and implications on the latest developments in the world of genomics. Since its inauguration 9 years ago, ICG has proved itself as one of the most dynamic, enthusiastic, and enjoyable gatherings internationally. We have not only been doing science, we have also been cultivating a culture of collaboration. ICG puts everyone together, to do together, to share together and lets communication make a difference.

    SIBIFE
SIBIFE is one of the largest and most influential events in the region with a focus on promoting academic communication, development of new businesses, and industrialization of global biotechnology research and translation. In 2013, the 2nd SIBIFE brought together more than 1,200 policy makers, corporate leaders, industry heavyweights, biotech investors and insightful scholars. This year, SIBIFE will inaugurate the 1st BT Leaders Summit, where presenters will share their insights on building a global connection between advanced biotechnology and capital to promote innovation and inspiration for sustainable biotechnology and healthcare industries.

The convergence of ICG and SIBIFE this year will gather even more friends together from the globe and provide exciting opportunities to develop greater collaborations between scientists and industry professionals in omics world. This joint conference will be a dynamic, enthusiastic, and enjoyable gathering for everyone, and it is a great pleasure to have you with us.

      Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
      by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

      Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
      by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
