  • Senior Product development Scientist - Next-Gen sequencing - Ann Arbor, MI, USA

    Position Description

    We are seeking a creative, rigorous, experienced and motivated PhD scientist to lead the development of new protocols and applications for targeted sequence capture for NGS. The candidate will work closely with the scientific management to implement new ideas. The candidate must be able to design and perform experiment as well analyse data. The candidate will be in charge of writing user manuals, white papers and present at conferences (poster, oral presentation, webinar).

    Required Skills
    • Next-generation sequencing library construction
    • In solution target sequence capture
    • Next-generation sequencing, any instrument (454, Illumina or Ion Torrent)
    • Additional expertise in sequence analysis (assembly, mapping) would be an advantage
    • Must be independent, well-organized, rigorous and detail-oriented
    • Must be able to design and implement new protocols
    • Must be able to perform experimental work and data analysis
    • Must be able to supervise ‪and coordinate the work of a small team
    • Good writing and presentation skills


    Qualification
    • At least one year of hands-on experience with NGS library preparation, in-solution hybridization sequence capture and sequencing
    • PhD degree in relevant field
    • Master degree with strong expertise will also be considered
