If you are sequencing repetitive regions of Human DNA for example, you would expect that.

Could be Poly-A tails too, if this is RNA-seq, or if you just didn't RNase your samples that well. Transcriptome assemblies have more absurd poly-A coverage than that though.

Looks like polyA or lots of Alu sequences. What is the source of the data. This would help us debug.
