  • PCR-free NGS Libraries from 5 ng of Input DNA

    Hello SEQanswers community!

Now you can produce PCR-free NGS libraries from DNA input quantities as low as 5 ng with Accel-NGS™ from Swift Biosciences.

Why Accel-NGS excels in NGS library prep:

    • The only commercially available kit capable of producing libraries from low DNA input without PCR (PCR-free minimizes base composition bias and fidelity issues)
    • Ultra-low input requirements, as little as 5 ng
    • Fast - only 75 minutes start-to-finish
    • Streamlined, 5-step protocol that can be easily automated
    • Unique, two-step adaptation process reduces adapter dimer formation to maximize sequencing output
    • Does not require intact, double-stranded DNA; ideal for FFPE and damaged samples
    • Optional barcoding
    • Attractive pricing

    Many happy library preps!

My lab would be interested if you had a kit for the MiSeq. Sent an email to your customer service- if you need willing participants I'd love to try a few environmental libraries.

Stay tuned for Accel-NGS launches for additional NGS platforms - we expect to have more information for you in the near future and will update this post and our website as soon as they are available. We are interested in working with early access/beta testers and will follow up with those interested directly. Thanks!

We have a MiSeq and an Ion Proton in house, and several groups in addition to my own are trying to make libraries with tiny amounts of DNA/RNA.

We would be very interested in this technology and would be happy to beta test. Please email me if this is something you could do.

So from 5 ng to 250 ng...? Ecoli vs. what?

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
              by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...

              Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
              by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
