Linux Systems Administrator
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center is a world renowned organization dedicated to the progressive control and cure of cancer through programs of patient care, research, and education.
The Bioinformatics Core at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) in New York City (Manhattan) is seeking a Systems Administrator to work as part of the team supporting the High Performance Computational (HPC) resources used by the Computational Biology Center and MSKCC staff. This includes monitoring system and network performance, configuration and support of HPC systems and applications, account administration, system optimization, and user support.
Required Qualifications:
•*Bachelor's degree or equivalent
•*Operating Systems: Linux (RHEL, CentOS, SLES, Mac OS X)
•*Basic Systems Administration: Linux installation, maintenance, upgrade, backup, NFS, TCP/IP networking
•*Experience with Linux/UNIX server and cluster hardware setup and configuration, performance monitoring, tuning and troubleshooting
•* Experience working with highly complex system implementations and organizational processes
•*Effective communication skills
Desirable Qualifications:
•*Experience with LDAP, Nagios, Apache HTTPd, Tomcat, iptables, rsync, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, SGE, Courier, and Postfix
•*Experience with parallel and clustered file systems
•*Experience programming in Python, Ruby, Perl or Java
•*Familiarity with bioinformatics and computational biology
•*Familiarity with Amazon Web Services cloud computing platform
