  • Hello from Bozeman, Montana

Hello everyone, I am a long time lurker here at SEQanswers but finally registered to participate in the community more actively. My name is Dan, my background is in statistics, and I work for a commercial bioinformatics software and service group called Golden Helix.

Again, just thought I would say hello!

Hi! I'm also in MT (Missoula) and just signed up here. Just beginning to step into the bioinformatics myself. I'm a grad student at UM...hoping to make use of sequencing technologies in the not too distant future!

astat - Are you in your first year of their program? We should connect for sure. I'd be happy to be a local resource.

Hi Dan - I'm in my third year already, so lots of catching up to do! Mostly figuring out what I might need to sequence in the next few months, and what I can do with existing data.

Jonathan! Good to hear from you! I figure it's time for me to start spending some serious time with this bioinformatics business.

                  Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
                  by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
