  • Buy NebNext Ultra DNA Library Kit components individually

    Hello everyone,

Can someone explain why the NebNext Ultra DNA Lib Prep Kit is so expensive compared to the sum of the invidivual components?

NebNext Ultra DNA Library Prep Kit for Illumina: $535. 24 reactions
    Contains:
    -NEBNext® End Repair Module
-NEBNext® Q5® Hot Start HiFi PCR Master Mix
    -Blunt/TA Ligase Master Mix
    -NEBNext Ligation Enhacer

    But:
    NEBNext® End Repair Module: $85. 20 reactions
NEBNext® Q5® Hot Start HiFi PCR Master Mix: $90. 50 reactions
    Blunt/TA Ligase Master Mix: $97. 50 reactions
    Total: $272

    Regards,

The NEBNext® End Repair Module is missing the A-tailing component (likely taq ploymerase).

I might be late to the party but does the NEBNext module no longer include the Blunt/TA Ligase Master Mix? It seems that now the kit contains the enzyme only despite the ONT protocol calling for the mastermix. Very frustrating to spend so much on a "one-stop" kit only to find out I'm missing a key component.

        Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
        by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

        Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
        by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
