Default Stacks process_radtags N in overhang

I have RADseq reads (using PSTI) where the first position in the overhang is almost invariably N. When I try to use process_radtags, it discards all of my reads. I tried using the --disable_rad_check option, but I get an error message that says it doesn't recognize this option. What am I doing wrong?
