    Essential Functions
The Genome Technology Access Center was established by the Department of Genetics at Washington University in St. Louis to provide cutting-edge and cost effective sequencing and analysis technologies to local colleagues and external investigators. GTAC offers comprehensive next-gen sequencing, microarray, and PCR services. In addition to generating high quality genomic and transcriptomic data, we also perform data analysis and provide technological support to users to ensure maximum data value. Our goal is to return data of the highest quality and help researchers make biological sense out of the massive amounts of information generated in these experiments.

This opportunity assists with the technical aspects of studies and experiments including documentation and preparation of materials. The Facility is responsible for the preparation of DNA for sequencing (library prep) and the actual operation of the sequencer. We currently use the Illumina HiSeq 2500, HiSeq 3000, and MiSeq.

The primary focus of the work includes but is not limited to the following:

    >>NextGen library preparation. Involves both manual and automated technology
