Default What on earth does OPOS mean ?

Hi all,

going through some of my .vcf files I see the POS column for SNPs...ok that's normal. Then there is an OPOS identifier which is often off by one base compared to POS. The descriptor says OPOS="List of original allele positions".
I don't understand what this means. Anyone have an idea?
