  • Perfect 454 FLX for sale (with FREE upgrade to long reads FLX+ available)

My sequencing facility is selling our 454 FLX sequencer.
The instrument was installed in 2008 and is still perfectly working. The last run was run yesterday (1/17//2011). the upgrade to the 700+ bp reads is available free of charge if you prefer the FLX+ version.

The 454 FLX is in perfect conditions and was under Roche assistance contract from 2008 until today (and it will last till we sell it).
We can provide data of the last run if you want to check the throughput is perfect as expected.

We are selling the instrument itself and the PTP device for the loading procedure.

The reasons why we are selling the instrument is because we moved to Illumina for the projects we are mostly working on, and have bought a 454 junior for the other projects requiring long reads. The big 454 FLX needs more samples to run than the one we are currently managing.

you can find a picture of the working instrument at this link http://db.tt/j8YcpHg6

    Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
    by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
