  • price for Hi-Seq 2500, Mi-Seq, Hi-Seq 2000, Hi

Does anyone know the price range for Hi-Seq 2500, Mi-seq, Hi-Seq2000 and Hi-Seq1000?

    Thanks

Well, I don't have a 'real world' range, but here are the list prices:
    HiSeq 2500 = $740k
    HiSeq 2000 = $690k
    HiSeq 1500 = $640k
    HiSeq 1000 = $590k
    MiSeq = $125k

These prices are for only for the individual instruments; they don't include any ancillary equipment (e.g., cBOT)

The MiSeq doesn't need a cBot. Is this also true for the 2500?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you have that right: no cBot needed for the 2500 or 1500 when run in fast mode (but I'm pretty sure you still need one for the 'slow' mode).

@NextGenSeq: You will need a cBot for the HighSeq 2500 High Output run (http://www.illumina.com/systems/hiseq_systems.ilmn)

Does anybody have any information about the costs for a HiSeq 2500 run in comparision to the HiSeq 2000? Will the kit costs be the same for a High Output run on the HiSeq 2500 as for a HiSeq 2000 run?

          Best regards
          Robby

            Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
            by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

            Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
            by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
