  • Anybody proficient with Hamilton/Venus?

Hi all, I hope this isn't a long shot or inappropriate for this forum...

I'm having troubles with a script I've written for a Hamilton MicroLab Star liquid handler.

All is golden, except for an issue I've been having trying to use the Nested Tip Racks for standard volume tips. It seems like I may have saved the most complicated bit for last.

When I add the VISUAL_NTR_Library::Channels_TipCounter_Edit step into my script, and go to run in simulation mode, I keep getting the same error that the program could not find the Visual_NTR_Library.smt file.

I've double and triple checked that the sub-method is present at the correct place in the file path designated by the error message. I am not sure what is going on here.

Even when I run a previous script that I imported from a different computer (that runs correctly on the other said PC), I get the same error message regarding the visual NTR library file missing.

Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!

      Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
      by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

      Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
      by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
