  • PacBio SMRT Informatics Developers Conference – August 26

    Hi all,

PacBio will be having a full-day, collaborative conference focused on developing and improving data analysis tools for SMRT Sequencing technology.

    SMRT Informatics Developers Conference
    Date: August 26, 2015
Where: Gaithersburg, MD – NIST campus - the day prior to the Genome in a Bottle
    Registration: http://programs.pacificbiosciences.c...5-06-01/39vxm3

The goal of the conference is to advance development of analytical tools for PacBio data by enabling in-person brainstorming and idea exchange among software developers and the bioinformatics community. Through facilitation of open discussion and collaboration, the event will nurture development of new and existing open source tools for de novo assembly, genome phasing, structural variations, methylation and Iso-Seq™ analysis.

    Keynote speaker:
    • Gene Myers, Ph.D., Founding Director, Systems Biology Center, Max Planck Institute

    De novo assembly:
    • Adam Phillippy, Ph.D., NBACC
    • Sergey Koren, Ph.D., NBACC
    • Mihai Pop, Ph.D., University of Maryland
    • Aleksey Zimin, Ph.D., University of Maryland
    • Jason Chin, Ph.D., Pacific Biosciences

    Structural Variations:
    • Ali Bashir, Ph.D., Mount Sinai School of Medicine
    • Adam English, Ph.D., Baylor College of Medicine
    • Mark Chaisson, Ph.D., University of Washington (tentative)

    Kinetic Data Analysis:
    • Shinichi Mori****a, Ph.D., University of Tokyo
    • David Alexander, Ph.D., Pacific Biosciences

    Isoform Analysis:
    • Kin Fai Au, Ph.D., University of Iowa
    • Thomas Skelly, MPhil (Cantab), Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer
    • Ana Conesa, Ph.D., University of Florida
    • David Tse, Ph.D., University of California, Berkeley
