Directional/non-directional libraries vs paired-end/single sequencing

Hi,

Maybe this question will sound strange or silly but I don't see the relationship between a directional or a non directional library and a paired-end or single end sequencing.

For example, for paired-end sequencing, should the library be absolutely a directional library ?

I don't see if the type of library has an influence on the type of sequencing you want to perform.

You can mix and match directionality and single/paired-end libraries. Although at this point I'm not sure that there's much of a reason not to do directional libraries.

Indeed, I suppose that paired end sequencing on non-directional libraries must be difficult to interpret (?).
