  • Change of extension .results

    Hello everybody:

Have a nice day! I should be very grateful if you would help me to know requirements to change file format .results to .sam (for exemple), and how to do it.
Thanks in advance and best regards,

I assume you are asking about re-formatting the contents.

Can you tell us what kind of data this file is from and what program/instrument produced it? Do you know what it contains? Can you post a small example of the data from the beginning of the file?

      Dear GenoMax

Thank you for your kindness. The file contains data of transcriptome analysis (We have invoices), but the analyzer finds new and better job and sent us archives with file extension .results.
It could be useful to have in other format i.e, excel or any other resource let us to organize the results.

Maria: That looks like a tab (or space) separated text file. You should be able to open that directly in excel (choose "show all files" in file open dialog). Gene ID's appear to be from Ustilago. You only have FPKM values (is this from cufflinks analysis?)

At this point you can save the file in any other text format (csv, tab) and choose a file name you want.

          Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
          by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

          Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
          by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
