Default Post DEG analysis

Dear folks,

I need idea(s) on what to do after I have the list of differential expressed genes.

Function enrichment? Build gene network? I really do not want to map the reads to existing models of "pathway"s

That depends on the experimental hypothesis that you had prior to the sequencing experiment. Most of the downstream analyses that have been done on DE results I've produced have involved something similar to a pathway analysis.

In addition, you should at least do confirmatory analyses of the differentially-expressed genes (e.g. by qPCR).
