  • Can you recommend a commercial HMW gDNA extraction service for insects in the US?

    Hello,

I'm working on some extractions but am under a time crunch. I'd like to send away for extractions as a plan-B. Can anyone recommend a commercial or university lab that has experience with HMW gDNA extractions for PacBio sequencing specifically from insect tissue?

Any good Yelp reviews or testimonials would be appreciated. I've contacted a few labs we work with and no luck find anyone with experience extracting insects.

Going to keep looking, found one in Canada, but can't get the paperwork through in time for customs. Any advice is appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Dacotah

Circulomics (makers of the HMW kit) has customized the protocol for a particular species and sent back DNA. You might try them, although I don't know if they rush for a time crunch.

Have you looked at the low input protocol for PacBio-ing a single mosquito? https://www.pacb.com/publications/a-...io-sequencing/
