You did not actually ask a question, and it's not clear what you want to know. Can you restate it more explicitly?

I want to know ow many total exons are there in the human copy of this gene that I provided?

      Thanks!

You appear to be a student who wants someone to do his homework for him. That is not the goal of this forum.

this is not a hmwk problem. I didn't understand how to do this kind of problem in class so I am asking someone to explain it to me. You can use a different sequence to explain it to me, I'm just trying to learn.

You cannot determine where exons start and stop, in general, from the raw sequence. So, it is impossible to determine the number of exons used in a gene from the sequence alone. It's possible in a well-characterized genome, but that sounds like the point of the exercise.

someone suggested I use UCSC BLAT to put my sequence in. Problem is, I don't know what the results mean.

                Moving this to General.

Just like in the real world...people will be more inclined to help if you post what efforts you've made, rather than asking to be spoonfed.

                  by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...

                  by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
