Default A-Tailing question

I've been trying to figure out how exactly A-Tailing works in library construction. Why is only one adenosine residue added to the 3' blunt end and what is the purpose of the A-tail?

Does anyone have a molecular diagram?

Thank you

You might just want to google "TA cloning". The principles are the same.

Thank you for answering my question. I realize now it is pretty simple I was just searching with the wrong terms.
