    ChIP Seq

    Does anyone have a good feel for what size gel slice should be used in preparing Illumina ChIP Seq libraries? I have been using a product called gene catcher and it cuts out a slice that is 1 mm wide and covers the width of the lane and I am wondering if this is sufficient. Would there be any reason to take a wider slice? I have seen reference to 2 mm slices. I am also using this for my genomic libraries. What are others using?
