The Bioinformatics Shared Resource at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is looking for a computational developer to join our growing team of bioinformatic scientists. The right candidate will enjoy collaborating with other scientists to develop innovative data analysis tools, with an emphasis on analysis of next generation sequencing data. Responsibilities will include maintaining and updating existing software pipelines, providing collaborative bioinformatics support to members of CSHL, and writing code for customized bioinformatics projects. The ideal candidate will also have experience developing code for the Galaxy platform.

Position Requirements
- A Masters Degree in a quantitative field such as Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Physics, or Mathematics, with a solid understanding of Biology/Genomics [OR] a Bachelors degree and experience working as a full-time bioinformatic scientist
- Strong background in programming, with fluency in at least two languages or analysis platforms (such as Python, Perl, C, Fortran, Ruby, Java, R/Bioconductor)
- Experience working with biological datasets and databases
- Ability to work well in a team environment/Strong communication skills
- Experience with biological database management [OR] Experience with the Galaxy platform
