Uneven pooling correlates with percent duplicate

Sometimes when I pool my samples the read count is uneven and some samples have twice as many reads as others. The percent of duplicated reads matches this pattern. Could it be the higher the percent duplicated reads the higher the read count will be for that sample?

Every library has a size which is the number of non redundant fragments. By increasing read number the chance of sequencing PCR copies of original fragments is increases resulting in duplicates.
