Default OD 260/230 values for Affymetrix Axiom

I am getting ready to run some samples on an Affymetrix Axiom array.

The AxiomŽ 2.0 Assay Manual Workflow (http://media.affymetrix.com/support/...user_guide.pdf) states that any samples "[t]he OD260/OD280 ratio should be between 1.8 and 2.0 and the OD260/OD230 ratio should be greater than 1.5." I have a couple samples that are registering as 1.5 and a few samples that are between 1.45 and 1.49. These numbers are from a Nanodrop machine.

I sent Affy an email, and I got a bit contradictory message saying "typically a clean sample is 2.0 or above" from the Director of the Axiom Genotyping Services Laboratory.

I've done some of ammonium acetate cleanups (which the manual recommends), and when they work the samples go up 1.5-1.8-ish, but they never reach 2.

I was wondering what experiences any of you had with OD260/OD280 ratios slightly below 1.5 and between 1.5 and 2. Thanks!
