Default What are the main things you look for when choosing a core facility?

These questions are for anyone who orders NGS services.

What are the main things you look for when choosing a core facility to sequence your samples?

What sort of questions do you ask a core facility when you have samples that need to be sequenced.

I'm starting a new facility and would appreciate your feedback.

Default choosing a NGS service provider

Customers often look at the following when choosing service providers:

1. Price
2. Turnaround time
3. Reputation / Experience
4. Quality of results--- although this is difficult metric to measure

Anyone else have others?

Customer service. Although you can argue that this is part of #3 and #4. Basically if there is a problem -- sample prep, running on the machine, etc. -- how much does effort does the service provider go through to track down and solve the problem.

Bioinformatics support is another feature that researchers look for. Though, I'm not sure what percent of researchers who request sequencing and library prep also request bioinformatics support at cores. Anyone core providers have estimates?
