  • library preparation cost

Dear all, I'm trying to get a view of a full economics cost for a library prep for the Illumina GA. I certainly know that there is different commercial kits out there but I was wondering what you estimate/calculate for additional purification steps (not included in the kits), for size selection and for overhead? Thanks. Tom

I'm talking fragmented DNA only. No CHIP or RNA....

it is about $225 per sample for >10 preps, using NEB kit and a few bioanalyzer runs, plus adapters/primers from IDT or wherever..

it is possible to develop a sample prep protocol <$65 per sample

                Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
                by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
