    Could any one help with answering these questions;

    you need to sequence a bacterial genome to look for mutations causing drug resistance?

    A) what bioinformatics tools would you use ?

    B) what file formats are used for NGS technology to save disk space?

    C) how do you identify insertions and deletions?

    Thanks

    I don't think we're supposed to be answering your exam questions for you!

      giving help does not mean answering an erxam. these are general questions regarding a module we are studying. By the way, there are no exam's questions given to the students before the actual exams.

      thanks

        I would suggest doing some research on your own rather than directly asking people to answer your study questions. As the forum's description says "if TOPIC == 'computers' and SEARCHED_ALREADY == True : continue"

          Those questions are like going into a car dealership, buying a car, and saying "How do I drive?". They hint at no prior knowledge to build on. Answering them as asked will get you nowhere, and is insulting to our desire to help people with real issues requiring assistance.

            I am doing my own search as well as asking. do not expect that I am going to trust any given answers as I don't know who is answering me.

            any way, I might choose the wrong place. hoped that replays could have been said nicely.

            I am going to stop it here, and not argue any more.. many thanks

              Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
              by seqadmin

              The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...

              Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
              by seqadmin

              Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
