The Microbiome Forum Asia will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on 19th and 20th January 2015.
Be at the forefront of the latest research that is already transforming people's lives!
Our understanding of the microbiome is at the frontier of life sciences research. It has been made possible because of advances in sequencing technology and falling costs. Already a treatment for c difficile has been proven to be efficacious and a range of treatments that will improve human health are now entering clinical trials.
But don't just take my word for it. This is what the experts expect the future will hold!
Sarkis Mazmanian a Professor of Microbiology, California Institute of Technology, commenting on the rapid advances being made in this field said that “in the last couple years people have appreciated the gut-brain connection and how the microbiome may affect neurological disorders or behaviours associated with mood and cognition and even neuro-degeneration"
Huiying Li, Assistant Professor, UCLA, believes that the future of Microbiome research lies beyond the gut in studies of the skin, oral and vaginal microbiome. And her own research into the human skin microbiome has concluded that string level differences in the microbiome are important in terms of disease association and potential therapeutics.
The Asia meeting follows the London and San Diego meetings which, as you can see, were great successes. It will examine this cutting-edge branch of life science research which has the potential to transform the way disease is treated. You will not want to miss it.
