  • ISAcreatorConfigurator

    Hello everybody,

    I have a big problem:

I have the Bioinvindex web app running. I also made same isatab files and uploaded them to my website. Also a test file, BII-S-3 from the isatools website sample isatab file page.
The problem is that there are these drop-down lists at the top of the website: organism, measurement, technology, and platform, which are populated by information from the uploaded isatab files.
Now, these fields are nicely populated by the info from the BII-S-3 isatab, but my isatabs do not contribute anything to populating the drop down lists. I have attached a screen shot.

I think it might be due to us not providing proper information in the study file part of isatab.
For example, in the configurator, the following fields are present, but when I switch to ISAcreator, they dissappear:

    Study Assay Measurement Type
    Study Assay Technology Type
    Study Assay Platform Type

These are 3 fields which correspond to measurement, technology, and platform drop-down lists on the web app.

I think the solution might be to define certain fields in the study file as TERM SOURCE REF.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks, Matt

    Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
    by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...

    Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
    by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
