A client recently asked me how to handle his miRNA sequencing results. They are looking for overall expression levels of miRNA across several samples.
What he wanted to know is if they could group all of the mature, sub, super variants together to make the analysis easier.
I know that they lose information by doing this, but would this be an unacceptable way to handle the data? I assume this is a pretty common occurrence, but I haven't found much information in regards to how to appropriately handle this.
Thanks
