Hey all,
I've just seen that the Turkey and Panda genomes (assembled from 454+Illumina reads and only Illumina reads respectively) now are up on Pre Ensembl with complete chromosomes.
The Panda assembly consists of over 80,000 scaffolds, and I would very much like to know how they've assigned each scaffold to a certain chromosome, and also how they can know the internal order of the scaffolds in each chromosome. Does anyone have a clue??
I'm assembling a large genome myself, but with 100,000 scaffolds and a linkage map with only 200 sites I have no idea how to get full chromosome sequences..
Any help would be appreciated!
