  • AmpliSeq vs TruSeq custom amplicon

I have three genes that I want to capture and sequence in an initial 250 patient samples. I wanted to do a comparison between Illumina's new custom amplicon/golden gate and Ion Torrent's AmpliSeq.

It looks best to wait until they launch in March. Fair enough rules for early access?

Use Ion AmpliSeq Designer, our free and easy yet powerful custom NGS panel design tool, to take your NGS testing in the direction you need.

Interesting... reminds me of old Taqman days... When it was time to actual licence things, AB would never get back to us or even transfer our demans properly. That being said, there are other sample prep solutions out there. Have you checked into the Access Array from fluidigm, there is a capital cost but if the sample size is high enough, the routine work becomes inexpensive.

We are launching our GenomePooling technology, that allows users to pool multiplexed tagged genomes of up to 384 samples, followed by region of interest extraction and NGS on any platform. Pooled genome libraries can be reused for subsequent extractions, thus removing the need for repeat sample preps.

        Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
        by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
