Job Description:
A postdoctoral position is available immediately for a highly motivated candidate to develop computational approaches for integrative analysis of large-scale datasets in cutting-edge proteomics and genomics. The candidate will be jointly trained in the labs of Drs. Junmin Peng and Jinghui Zhang (see Xu et al. Cell, 2009 137:133 and Zhang et al. Nature, 2012 481:157). The successful applicant will work in a dynamic environment, performing integrative analysis of multidimensional datasets, including whole genome sequencing, RNA seq, total proteome analysis, and phosphoproteome profiling of clinical tumor samples. The developed algorithms will also be applied to investigate tumor pathogenesis in disease models, such as cell lines and animal models, providing novel therapeutic strategies for cancer treatment.
St. Jude provides a highly interactive and supportive environment for researchers’ career development, and has been named No. 1 in the Best Places to Work in Academia by The Scientist magazine. More information on research projects is available on our websites: http://www.stjude.org/peng and http://www.stjude.org/zhang.
Job Qualifications:
The candidate shall have a strong background in bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics or a related field. The candidate is expected to be a critical thinker, a quick learner for new analytical approaches and capable to develop novel computational methods for solving complex problems. Prior experience on using bioinformatics to analyze high-throughput genomics and proteomics data is preferred. Experience working in UNIX and LINUX environments and programming experience in Perl or C++ and statistic package like R are required. Candidate must have an excellent publication record. Please submit CV, three references, a statement describing doctoral work and future research interests to Drs. Junmin Peng and Jinghui Zhang
