Hello!
I erroneously bought an Illumina nano V2 kit 300 cycle kit instead of the 500 cycle kit. I could not return it, and so used it, doing 2 x 150 bp reads.
The problem now is that these reads are not merging because there is no overlap - in fact there is a 160 bp gap. Instead of only using the forward read (150 bp) and losing the reverse read (150 bp), I'm looking for a solution to use both reads and maximise the data I have for accurate OTU assignment.
Any help would be appreciated.
