    “The Power to Shape Your Future”We are seeking a Director, Bioinformatics to be heavily involved with defining our bioinformatics strategy for analysis of next-generation sequencing data for the clinical diagnostics lab, from raw data to clinically-actionable results. Will oversee the design, development, and implementation of innovative bioinformatics workflows and evaluate and provide recommendations on 3rd party bioinformatics tools, while providing technical leadership and supervision to the bioinformatics team.

    DESCRIPTION OF POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
    •Participates as key member of a cross-functional team responsible for defining the overall development and commercial strategy for novel sample-to-answer sequencing-based clinical diagnostics.
    •Performs statistical modeling to help define specifications for sequencing data output to meet clinical performance requirements.
    •Works with our Development group on integration of bioinformatics pipeline with instrumentation software, including interface to Healthcare Information Systems and Electronic Medical Records.
    •Maintains expertise in state-of-the-art bioinformatics methods; works with regulatory bodies and standards organizations to help define standards for NGS data in the clinical lab environment.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
    •Master’s Degree or Ph.D in Bioinformatics, or closely related field (Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering) and 10+ years experience in the field of bioinformatics including an established track record in next-generation sequencing data analysis and extensive experience supervising and directing bioinformatics projects.
    •Proven experience working with large genomic datasets including integration with public and private databases.
    •Hands-on expertise with open source and 3rd party bioinformatics tools and applications for analysis of next gen sequencing data. Experience with R, C/C++, Java, SQL, Perl, and Python. Proficient in Unix/Linux.
    •Strong foundation in molecular biology, molecular genetics, biostatistics.
