Just to let everyone know who are interested in the Qiagen SeqTarget system to think again if they want to buy this.
These are the reasons why:
1. It does not cover ALL exons. The are massive gaps!! For our gene of interest there were 26 exons missing which is 20% of the total exons.
2. Poor design decisions. There are 11 kb fragments with only one exon (~100 bp) in size.
Don't be fooled with the over inflated price of the primers meaning that there was some rational thought put into the design. There wasn't and the primers do not work first time and even with the "magic" Q solution
For those that are interested... there are ways to infer the exact position of the primers.
