  • Introductions - High volume data acquisition and analysis

    Hi all,

I don't have a degree in a field even closely related to anything on this site. However, I am interested in discussing high volume data acquisition and analysis from sequencing systems. I am part of a consortium that would eventually want to employ a few people in developing a high throughput sequencing service. If that interests any of you and you have experience in this, please respond.

    Best wishes

      Hi Aniket

      Dear Aniket,

we are a start up firm that is developing a personal genetics service which will be combined with a social collaborative mining platform that brings together data from these scans, clinical data, research publications and other sources.

We have several positions open and are setting up an office in Cambridge UK. We are looking for highly motivated personnel who have experience in SNPs and full genome wide scans and who can translate their skillset to develop an effective and highly efficient high throughput service from, for example, cheek swab to scan to counselling.

      Hope that helps.
      Regards
      M Suraweera

Recent Advances in Sequencing Analysis Tools
            by seqadmin

The sequencing world is rapidly changing due to declining costs, enhanced accuracies, and the advent of newer, cutting-edge instruments. Equally important to these developments are improvements in sequencing analysis, a process that converts vast amounts of raw data into a comprehensible and meaningful form. This complex task requires expertise and the right analysis tools. In this article, we highlight the progress and innovation in sequencing analysis by reviewing several of the...

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
            by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...
