I cannot presently access or obtain a new computer with better specs. We have a bunch of older machines (7 x 1 GB RAM plus 2 GB RAM for head node) in a cluster with a Linux distributed operating system (Rocks). Has anyone tried running gsAssembler on a cluster? Does anyone know if this software can run on a cluster?
Is 2 GB RAM on a single machine running Linux Ubuntu capable of handling cDNA sequence data from multiple 454 Junior runs?
(> 200,000 reads, ave length >400 bp).
Thanks for any advice,
Jen
