  • Does anyone have any experience with the newLabChip GX Touch

    We already have an Agilent Bioanalyzer in the lab, but with the new needs (analyzing genomic DNA and NGS libraries), and with a significant increse in the number of samples we process we are about to buy a new DNA /RNA analyzer, with a higher throughput and which can also analyzer gDNA.

    Our biggest demand is the RNA QC analysis, many of the samples in the range of picograms. And the other idea is to have a good quantification system for NGS libraries, taking into account that you have to analyse their electrophoretic profile to determine the size distribution.
    So we are searching for an automatic analyzer with high resolution and high sizing and quantification accuracy, and high sensitivity for RNA and NGS library QC. Combined with the gDNA analysis

    We have demos of Fragment Analyzer (FA) (12-capillar format) and TapeStation (TS) 4200. But we were not happy with the resolution and sizing accuracy of TapeStation, even if it´s much easier to use than the FA. The resolution and sensitivity of TS for RNA samples was not satisfactory. We have very good results with the FA for RNA and gDNA, but a high variability of , even if we are a little concern about the easy of use, analysis software, and the maintenance.

    But I have seen that there is a new automatic analyzer: LabChip GX Touch from PerkinElmer. It sounds very good, the high throughput automatic version of LabChip GX, which is similar to Bioanalyzer, and you expect the same resolution and sensitivity.

    Does anyone use or test this new analyzer? Any results with "real" samples?
