Default Can you use PicoGreen in a Qubit assay?

Hi,

I purchased a picogreen kit to use on our fluorometer- turns out its actually broken.

I've found a Qubit in the department, but Invitrogen have done the classic name change to turn all the specific reagents into undecipherable substance "x".

Does anyone know if the buffer is simply 20x TE and the dye, picogreen?

I'm trying to measure ds DNA and have already phoned their tech support to no avail. If anyone has a protocol or suggestions before I just go ahead and try it, that would be lovely!

Many thanks,

Craig

Picogreen gave extremely similar results to the HS dye (+ HS buffer), but not the BR dye (+BR buffer). Picogreen also gave similar results to the HS dye when it was in buffer 1xTE diluted by 1:200 and 1:400.

I am in a similar situation. Did you ever determine if the reagent is the same in both kits (i.e. is HS dye + HS buffer the same as the picogreen reagent)? Someone told me the concentrations may be different, which may affect the fluorescence/signal but I haven't confirmed that.
