  • Thruplex Sample prep kit by Rubicon

Thruplex sample prep kit by Rubicon? Anyone got experience of this kit? yields, diversity, coverage? cant see any literature out there from any users? appreciate any feedback

Anyone got experience from this kit? I have tried to contact the company via their homepage (email submission form) but they are not responding. 48 reactions costs $7200, which is quite expensive for testing purposes. It was used in this paper:
"Noninvasive whole-genome sequencing of a human fetus. Sci Transl Med. 2012 Jun 6;4(137):137ra76."

We used Thruplex in our recent Nature paper. http://dx.doi.org/doi:10.1038/nature12065, Non-invasive analysis of acquired resistance to cancer therapy by sequencing of plasma DNA. It was easy to run and gave great results from material many would not have considered it possible to sequence in this way.

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
            by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist on Modified Bases...

            Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
            by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
