  • TCGA RNA-Seq Data

For any one familiar with RNA-Seq data from TCGA. Are there any control samples included in level3 data. From what I understand from the sample identifier (TCGA-06-0673-11) the last number 11 is for normal tissue and I can't find any samples for RNA-seq.

    Hi Shahenda,

Yes there are a number of normal-adjacent samples available for the RNA-Seq. In fact, you can freely browse and analyze the RNA-SeqV2 (level 3) gene-level data in GenePool by taking advantage of the growing genomics reference library available to everyone. It also includes sample-level metadata curated by folks at Station X to make it easy to find the samples you are interested in analyzing.

Incidentally, we've also included the isoform-, splice-junction-, and exon-level counts in GenePool's premium content.

      Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
      by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
