  • Genomics Scientist at Ambry Genetics

    Ambry Genetics is seeking to hire a full time Scientist for its Genomics Division.

    Roles and responsibilities:
    The candidate will prepare, run, analyze and report biological data on the Illumina next-generation sequencing (NGS) platform. The candidate will participate in client interactions to assess project feasibility, and continually work with R&D and Genomics personnel to develop new applications and advance methods.

    Required skills and experience:
    Candidates should have a PhD in Molecular Biology, Genetics or a related field with practical experience analyzing sequencing data, preferably next-generation sequencing methods. The preferred candidate has excellent molecular biology skills and a solid understanding of genomics.
    Preferred experiences:
    • At least 2 years practical experience in preparing and running high throughput sequencing data, desirably hands-on experience on the Illumina platforms.
    • Basic bioinformatics skills necessary.
    • Motivated to work full time on sequencing projects using new methods and willing to learn new relevant skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment of a fast-moving genetic service company.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills.
