Hello,
I'm a curator/data wrangler for a large NIH-funded sequencing consortium. Part of my job is making sure that we collect enough information about the experiments so that others can re-use the data as much as possible. Additionally I work with the data itself, doing QC, etc. So, I do not use the data for analysis, per se; rather i help to make the data available to others so they can analyze it! For the most part, I use SAMtools and the various genome browsers that display the data; I have not used the specific software or equipment that produce the reads themselves.
This forum will help me stay on top of the issues that seem to be facing the experimentalists, and will help me understand any problems associated with this rapidly progressing technology!
