  • Where perform Illumina totalRNAseq?

    Hey guys

I am planning to do totalRNASeq studies using Illumina. Do you have any suggestions where to perform the sequencing? Do you know any companies or academic genome centers preferably in Europe?
How much will one lane cost roughly, just to have an idea?

    Thank you for your help

      [Commercial Post]

Omicsmaps.com is another useful resource, created by James Hadfield and Nick Loman, which lists institutes and what NGS instruments they have by geography.

At BlueSEQ we've created a sequencing service exchange where you can use our free online tools to define your project and then have service providers from all over the world (or restricted by geography) competitively bid for your business. You can choose by price, location, expertise, etc.

In terms of what a single lane costs, it will depend quite a bit on exactly what you're asking for (library prep, sequencing, analysis), but I've seen estimates in the $2k to $3k range.

        Dear Dolphin22,

Please allow me to introduce myself. I work for Oxford Gene Technology and we have just recently launched this Service. If you'd like to DM me your requirements, I will happily write a quote for you.

        Regards,

        Rachel Harper

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
          by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist...

          Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
          by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
