Research description:
We are looking for a highly motivated young scientist interested in pursuing a PhD in Computational Regulatory Genomics. The long-term goal of our group is to understand how gene expression and genome packaging is affected by genetic and epigenetic changes that happen during evolution, development and in disease, in particular cancer. The data that we use for our research are generated in collaboration with experimental groups, or retrieved from publicly available databases. The predoctoral position is available immediately. Informal enquiries about available projects can be addressed to Tanya Vavouri (tvavouri at imppc.org) before application. For more information see http://www.imppc.org/research-activi...tory-genomics/
Research at the institute combines basic and applied research in cancer and epigenetics. The IMPPC offers excellent working conditions in attractive surroundings.
Requirements:
Applicants must have a Masters degree (preferably in Bioinformatics), experience analysing genome-scale datasets, knowledge of a programming language and strong motivation for basic research. Candidates with previous experience working in a research environment will be favoured. Good communication skills in English are essential.
How to apply:
Please send your application by email to tvavouri at imppc.org, including a copy (cc) to [email protected].
Applications should include CV, contact details of two referees and a cover letter describing your research interests. Please quote the reference code on applications.
Application deadline: 30/April/2013
