  • Associate Director, Genomics Facility

    A Senior Research Associate position is available in the Genomics Facility of the Cornell University Life Sciences Core Laboratories Center (http://cores.lifesciences.cornell.edu). This position may be offered at the level of Associate Director of the core, depending on experience. The successful candidate will lead a team sharing responsibility for maintaining the efficient operation of the Genomics Facility, adapting cutting edge technologies in the fields of next generation sequencing and microarray-based technologies. In additional to assisting academic and industrial researchers with experimental design, planning, and execution of research projects, responsibilities include data analysis, developing research collaborations and assisting with writing grant proposals and manuscripts.

    Educational Requirements: Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and extensive experience in the field, or degree and extensive experience in related discipline. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in DNA and RNA-based methodologies, including sample preparation for next generation sequencing and microarray-based technologies. Strong technical, organizational and communication skills and ability to troubleshoot are essential.
