Overview

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeks a Software Engineer to help further develop the open source Bioconductor Platform. The Software Engineer is an exceptional candidate who has extensive software engineering experience and a passion for open-source software development. Responsibilities will include developing, testing and maintaining software to facilitate genomics data analysis.

Required skills:
Bachelor's degree, Master's Degree or Ph.D. in Statistics, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology or a related field.
3+ years of software experience in R, C, C++, and Unix.
Strong interest in contributing to biological research with clinical applications.
Experience in modern software development technologies, including distributed versioning systems, continuous integration, and Agile programming practices.

The candidate must demonstrate outstanding personal initiative and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Ability to meet deadlines and efficiently multitask is a must.

Desirable skills: Prior experience using Bioconductor or developing Bioconductor modules.
