  • 3rd Annual RNA-Seq Conference

    3rd Annual
    RNA-Seq: Differential Expression in Depth
March 18-20, 2013 | Hilton San Diego Resort, San Diego, California

RNA-Seq is perhaps the most complex NGS application. The range, depth, and complexity of a human transcriptome is far from fully characterized. RNA transcripts, by nature, are moing targets, making their characterization and quantification difficult. A single RNA-Seq experiment can provide relatively unbiased sequence information for analysis of gene expression, novel transcripts, novel isoforms, alternative splice sites, allele-specific expression, cSNPs, and rare transcripts, depending on read depth. This conference focuses on NGS technical improvements providing new insights into our active genome. Part of CHI's X-Gen Congress & Expo http://www.XGenCongress.com

    Strategies for Sequencing Challenging Samples
    by seqadmin

Despite advancements in sequencing platforms and related sample preparation technologies, certain sample types continue to present significant challenges that can compromise sequencing results. Pedro Echave, Senior Manager of the Global Business Segment at Revvity, explained that the success of a sequencing experiment ultimately depends on the amount and integrity of the nucleic acid template (RNA or DNA) obtained from a sample. “The better the quality of the nucleic acid isolated...
