  • plink marker error

    Hi,
I keep getting the following error message from plink:

ERROR: Could not place marker for left window edge

Does anyone know what does this error means?

I am using the options --from-bp and --to-bp

    Thanks in advance

It means it could not find your --from-bp marker name. Double-check your spelling and whether you have the correct files.

Everything seems fine. I have a center point and i would like to get the association results within a certain window. So i added 100bp to get the --from-bp parameter and subtracted 100bp to get the --to-bp parameter. Do you think there is something specifically wrong at that position? if yes, how can i check that position specifically?

Oops, my last response confused --from with --from-bp.

Anyway, the only way I've been able to get the "left window edge" error message is by providing --from-bp with a position value larger than the last actual bp position on the chromosome. So, two things to check:

        - Are you actually using --from-kb or --from-mb when you meant --from-bp?
        - Is your .bim file missing bp positions? Check the fourth column.

Essential Discoveries and Tools in Epitranscriptomics
          by seqadmin

The field of epigenetics has traditionally concentrated more on DNA and how changes like methylation and phosphorylation of histones impact gene expression and regulation. However, our increased understanding of RNA modifications and their importance in cellular processes has led to a rise in epitranscriptomics research. “Epitranscriptomics brings together the concepts of epigenetics and gene expression,” explained Adrien Leger, PhD, Principal Research Scientist on Modified Bases...

          Current Approaches to Protein Sequencing
          by seqadmin

Proteins are often described as the workhorses of the cell, and identifying their sequences is key to understanding their role in biological processes and disease. Currently, the most common technique used to determine protein sequences is mass spectrometry. While still a valuable tool, mass spectrometry faces several limitations and requires a highly experienced scientist familiar with the equipment to operate it. Additionally, other proteomic methods, like affinity assays, are constrained...
